“ | “You ignorant... I’m a Thule High Priest. Not a preacher”. ―Von Blunt | ” |
Von Blut is a Thule High Priest.
Appearance[]
Von Blut’s facial and bodily features are never seen, except for his chin and neck, but he is a tall and sturdily built man. He wears an outfit reminiscent of Ku Klux Klan regalia; with a white double-breasted shirt, red pants, a red cape with gold trim, a matching pointed hood with a white face mask, gold tassels on the right side of his chest, a black Nazi arm band on his left arm, a hanging cloth down the middle of his torso with a red cross and small swastika, and long black gloves with matching boots.
History[]
Von Blut was a Thule High Priest. Thoroughly deluded, he believes that Aryans were descended from the people of Atlantis and that Beliar was that nation's great leader, who was torn apart by the destruction of Alantis. Having his belief ridiculed by Rayne, Von Blut becomes enraged, calling her ignorant.
Powers and abilities[]
He appears to not have superhuman augmentations like the other members of the G.G.G.
Equipment[]
If Von Blut is pushed to the point of violence and having to prove his “Aryan superiority”, he will unveil a few deadly surprises.
- Armored Pulpit: At the push of a button, the wood panels of his pulpit fall to the floor to reveal the thick armor plating behind them and a gun shield will raise up from the top. The only spot that isn’t armored is the open section directly behind. To compensate for this weakness, the entire pulpit is mounted on a small rail that can be driven on back and forward while also being able to rotate 360°.
- Maxim MG08: Built into the pulpit is this heavy firearm that can be easily moved into firing position at the push of a button. It provides him plenty of high caliber bullets to spray across a wide area. After 50 shots, he will have to briefly reload. During this small window of time, he will be vulnerable.
Trivia[]
- Von Blut's name is German for "of blood".
- After entering Von Blut's temple, Rayne asks "What's that shovel for, Von Blut?". This is a reference to other games made by Terminal Reality - Nocturne and Blair Witch Volume I: Rustin Parr - where the same line ("what's that shovel for") was used by games' protagonists (Stranger and Elspeth Holliday, respectively).
- Upon defeating Von Blut on the PS4/PS5 and Steam remastered versions, you earn the trophy "Thule Chapel".
